			<description><![CDATA[<p>24 July Mt Hotham: They say that the early bird catches the worm, in the case of Hotham, the early bird carves and tears into the powder!</p><p>All the early morning powder shots taken in this blog (in the beautifully coloured light) were from the new snowmaking guns on Heavenly Valley, a quad chair accessed run that opens at 7.30am for the public Wednesday through to Sunday. You could be easily fooled that you were really skiing mother natures natural snowfall.</p><p>And then out came Harr]]></description>

It is nearing my visit to Perisher Blue, it would have been sacrelige if we hadnt dropped into Guthega for a ski and a feast at the Guthega Pub. Guthega is located on the vast perimeter of the Perisher Blue Resort, getting right into the heart of the main range and is perched above Guthega Dam.</p><p>And wow, what a place for a feed! We are renowned for getting a lot of wind - and I mean A LOT of wind. The visibility wasnt the best first up, so went down to Bullocks Flats and the Ski Tube terminal to shoot the train tracks covered in snow - almost got bowled over by a kangaroo in doing so!</p><p>The light got better in the arvo and between shooting I had some really fun skiing! For skiers and boarders during winter, it opened up lines down mountain sides that were often unskiable due to the dense undergrowth and thick branches. 			<description><![CDATA[Heavy fog, heavy ocean, fishing boats capsizing, people dying. The weather cleared enough today for one of the biggest days ever in surfing history. We battled through heavy surf in near zero visibility to make it out to Mavericks. After an hour wait 60-70ft bomb waves were ridden by a handful of the most die hard big wave surfers in the world. Am I stoked with the day? Nothing hase come close to what I witnessed going down, the adrenaline was going full throttle.]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Shot Waimea from a ski at 15-20ft then went to Phantoms and scored a couple of 20-25fters, then got chased in by a close out, then the ski died and I got hit by solid 8ft white water, but never let go of the ski, went upside down and miraculously made it somehow, all with a camera housing wrapped my neck! All survived, just and managed to start the ski which died again as I got to shore, so had to swim it in the last 20 metres. 			<description><![CDATA[Justin Allport snapped his leg in 5 peices at Ghost Trees just minutes after jumping off a long haul flight from Sydney to San Jose. A 50 ft wave mowed him down whilst his foot got caught in his tow-in boards footstrap. His first words were on the beach after his rescue was "I guess I won't be surfing Mavs this trip then" as he was carted off to hospital. 18 months later he's gets his chance at Mavs and shines along with the local boys....]]></description>
